The R31 has a regular socketed Pentium III-M like the A2x and T2x machines
I might be wrong but I think the R32 is like a T30 clone, as it comes with a Pentium 4-M

These are the final R Series, as Lenovo would drop it off in favor of the way cheaper, entry model E Series for a consumer base, the short lived SL and the slightly pricier L Series, aimed for small biz.

S Series – Sleek ThinkPad
All prices here are from TPG9 except the S431 Mid price.
These are pretty much the precursors to Lenovo’s new design that we see for the T440s and later machines, but just cheaper and in some cases, were not available in US markets. I’m speculating that there wasn’t Sx50 models due to conflicting machines. You had the Yoga line which was in 12″, 14″, 15.6″ formats, the W550s being a “mobile workstation”, and then you had the T450s and X1 Carbon, which the latter got a Yoga variant.

T Series, but put an AMD Processor innit
These were the precursor to the AMD version of the T14, heck I think the T495 was a test to see if it the naming scheme would do good. The E Series had AMD processors for a long time, and they did the same numbering scheme, just throw a 5 on the end instead of a 0. This isn’t really the successor to the A series, arguably the Z Series would be, as it was the “Multimedia” ThinkPad, but no three spindle because floppy was just about obsolete…

Z Series – 16:10 Ultrabook ThinkPad with no touchpad…
I wonder how these things are. Both systems have AMD processors, the bigger one has a dGPU, and they have a “notch” webcam. These do not have a TrackPoint!!! The little nub is gone. I think this is a more cheaper X1 Carbon alternative geared towards the prosumer.

I have an A31p 2654-4MU & an A21p 2629-H2U, first one was bought from eBay from a TP enthusiast, and the 2nd I had saved from when I used to work e-Waste. The A3x systems have a 15″ chassis as standard, but the A2x systems use the 14″ frame, so the accommodated by the palmrest having a V shape similar to the 770 series if it had the optional display. It just looks funky, Dell did something similar with their first 15″ machine, they just had made the fucking LCD bezel deeper to fit flush with the bottom case.
Thats all the machines, let me know if there’s something peculiar about it
Oh yeah, no E Series because, fuck em!
