Prices researched from April 10th 2026 to May 2nd 2026

Price research done from April 23rd to 28th, 2025
How I format the guide
This is usually Copy/Paste from most pages, skip if you know. 🙂
Model – Highlighted text is a link to the ebay search, sold listings. The first search is either a generic catch all search, or just the MTM. Then from there it is specific models
MTM – Machine Type Model – 4 Numbers – Think of it like a chassis serial number for cars
-xxx – 3 Alphanumeric – This narrows down to the specific laptop model & spec if you have the PSREF. It is handy bc sellers will sell “Old IBM Laptop” w/o any info other than photos. I use it to specifically find that laptop model if I can read it.
Sometimes I sift through the information, as itll have parts listings and in some cases
Sold – How many units sold
Low, Mid, High – Should be obvious. 25-30%, 50-60%, 75-85% of the sold listings.
EX+ – Higher than high, but usually bc of it being in great condition, it has something special (accessories, complete with original box, new old stock, certain type of OS installed). In some cases, it can just a working unit…
Prices in bold – They are prices from the previous guide, it is for reference.
- After the table, I have some notes dotted in this format
- Literally just my thoughts in here
- Also idk if i’ll be in search results without it… so yeah 🙂
- Because of how old these are, I will note if they are untested, damaged, bootable, & if they have an operating system
- consider you will not get something turn key, the latter at a low price, but if you do, I will note it!
- I will link sellers on here and their location, usually if they are e-Waste or e recyclers, or specialized sellers who rebuild. Its here if you want to save them as a seller
- In this era, there is a lot of demand but not so much of supply. That said, JCS computers, errr Jeremiah’s Computer Store LLC is an awesome seller of old and late model ThinkPads! Their listings are accurate, they take good pictures, and I believe they are a good seller.

- These shouldn’t be more than $4000 IMO! the EX+ is an avail listing from a 0 feedback seller, local pickup in Florida. I dislike some of the words they use in the description, “irreplacable” being one of them.
- Seems AI generated at some parts. It seems to be a near complete package; data cartridges, manuals, 5103 printer, some booklets and papers of the era, including the original reciept.
- Some photos of it shows its in a crate, and from a warehouse. Very curious!

what would I collect from here?
These are the same thoughts I had from the previous post. They still apply.
Considering my collection… P75 would be one that I would get, P70 if I cant find one, IDK 386 and 486 performance differences. Seriously the electroluminescent panel is fucking cool as fuck! it was only a short window that laptops or Portables were made with these. I believe the Honda S2000 had one of these panels for their instrument cluster, its fucking badass!
Yeah I’ll skip the L40SX, sorry I don’t like that thing. Instead I would get a GridPad Compass instead, they are way more cooler, and come in black!
Next would be a CL57 SX because its the first color screen IBM laptop, a precursor and fucking insane behemouth considering how small the ThinkPad 700C is.
Of course I would like to get a PS/55 machine, but not necessarily these.

- I think it has been sold and sold a few times, but this one looks to be restored from a seller in Canada.
- Will have to check other TPGs for this info 🙂 3 of them sold are from one seller, linked!
- I guess this 730T was sold as a TE or there’s a bunch sold tablets with the entire casing & printer.
- Goddamn if thats the case, it went from $476, to $875 to $1379. each seller & buyer made profits lol

- No HDD, but wow its wild that the same seller had 3 units, and also was selling an extra power supply separately. Kinda bummed I don’t have this as a notification for my saved search, I would have tried for it. originally I thought this was a 730T, but maybe the seller was just using the same pic for the default.
- I had to cross reference the pics, but indeed it is a separate unit, bc the bottom photo shows a different case wear and S/N.
- TPG 9 – $476 – 1 bid w/ case & printer… nice!
- I think this might be the same listing, but now it is $875 for sale…
- I didn’t track the seller last time, so I’m not sure if it just got returned/cancelled or flipped

idk if I copy/paste the next ones, it might blob this page too much. so I wont.
I don’t want to make 30 posts on my TPG 11 guide. I might do a specific one for X1 Carbons again, but I spend a LOT of time on just researching little dumb things other than panels n shit. Legit I was looking up P/N for TrackPoints. yeah they seem to change so fucking much and have certain ones for certain models, its annoying.

A lot of these are becoming unobtainium. I took like a 2 month break on price research. I forgot to update this too. I have no real excuse, I just fucking play League of Legends on my off time or spend it with a special person, or Im drunk as fuck xD so yeah. Working at USPS just drains you, idk how to deal with it properly. Maybe I’m just getting old. 🙂
